I have also ignored some stupid administrative rule once or twice. For awhile, the DON wanted us to use a stamp that said:

    Physician__________
    Date & Time________

We were suppose use this stamp everytime we took a verbal or telephone order so the doctors could be reminded that they needed to sign stuff. HELLO??? These doctors have AT least 12 years of education behind them. I should not have to tell them that they need to sign their names when they know darn well they are suppose to sign. These people are making life and death decisions, for crying out loud!! The nurses shouldn't have to lead them by a nosering for everything.

Canoehead-I would argue your facility's new policy. It stinks!!

WE have a stamp too, (!)and a little sticky that med records uses when they send charts around for missing signatures. Maybe this isn't a nursing problem- but a medial records problem?
