Reapplying after Resignation

Hi All,

I have recently resigned from a position after 3 months. I was straight out of college and decided my current program was incredibly stressful and not my calling. I am now applying to other positions at various hospitals. Should I include my past work experience in my resume although it was only 3 months? Or should I reapply to all these positions as a new grad and not mention my 3 months of experience? I guess i'm wondering how this whole scenario will be looked upon by HR recruiters....

Thanks so much in advance for the advice!

Hi all.

Thank you so much for the replies I wanted to give everyone an update! I had my first interview since the resignation today and I was asked as to why I did not work for 3 months...I explained the unit I was assigned to was not my 'cup of tea' and that I resigned with no negative feelings from my previous employer. I think honesty is the best policy...

I agree, 100%. Kudos!

What a perfect response! Hooray for being up front! Good luck with the job search!

:yeah:

Your employers and your previous addresses show up on your credit report. Actually there's a lot of stuff you can get off of someone's credit report.

Previous employers and addresses only show up if you have applied for credit while employed with them and/or while living at a particular address.

Every single employer I've had had showed up (and consider I'm only 23.... it's a lot). It even included a job where I only worked for 3 days!! I left them off my resume and it showed up and my potential employer called and they gave me a bad review (obviously) and I lost the job over it. I was only 16...

But do you know for certain that it showed up on your credit report, or did they get that information some other way?

In 2007, I worked for 2 different hospitals for 3 months each, after which I started working with my current employers where I have been for more than 2 years. NONE of them showed up on my credit report. I know this because I obtained a copy every year for awhile, then subscribed to the credit bureaus to access my credit report online whenever I wanted to because I was in the process of looking to buy a house and wanted to know what was on it at all times. My current employers are listed now, because I applied for credit while with them.

I have no idea how they got the information about every single previous employer I have ever had. I know on the credit report I've seen they don't show up on there. It must be some sort of screening potential employers can get to make sure potential employees are not hiding any negative employment history.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't know what it is but I sure would like to.

Ironically, this report showed up on Yahoo! today:

And this also in regards to credit reports:

"At a minimum, a background check will verify your social security number. At most, it can include an analysis of your work history, the people you know, along with a full credit report. It can also include your credit payment records, driving records or criminal history. The inquiries should be related to the job. For example, if you are hired to work in a bank, it would be reasonable to find out if you have a history of embezzlement or theft."

Hopefully this helps!
