Nurses General Nursing

Published

I am applying for a nurse internship. it says it wants a list of things included with your resume, 2 letters of recommendation from instructors being one of them. I have everything but that and I am just waiting for them now.

My question: should i go ahead and apply and note that i'll send the letters ASAP, or wait to apply until i have all of my paperwork ready???

Thanks

Unless the application is due before you can get the letters, wait until you have the letters.

I would wait to have the entire packet ready to go before you sumbit it. The easier it is for them to check off all that you have, the better you appear. You will at least give off the impression that you are very thorough with your work by having a completed packet with all the requirements.

I agree with the above posters. I'm sure pure anxious to get the application in, but the hospital is probably getting so many applications that they won't even look at ones that aren't complete. Even if it says you'll send them along, the recruiter wants completed packets of information, not separate pieces from several applicants that he has to sort through and match up.

Unless, like the first poster said, you won't meet the deadline. Then it's better to send part than to be late with everything. But gently remind your instructors that you need the letters soon.

Wait for the letters. You want to make a good first impression by having all of your ducks in a row.

Send an email out to the instructors that are writing your letters, and remind them that you are facing a deadline:

Good afternoon XYZ,

As you know, I am applying for an internship program. I have completed all of the required paperwork for this program. I must submit both this paperwork and your letter of recommendation by 00/00/0000.

Thank you for taking the time to write this letter, as I realize how valuable your time is, and recognize how busy you are. I truly appreciate your support in my candidacy to become a nurse intern with XYZ hospital. I am excited about this opportunity!

Please feel free to email me or call me if you have any questions. I intend on submitting my completed packet on XYZ date.

Respectfully,

You

Short, to the point, and you will remind them to WRITE THE LETTER ALREADY!

It is hard to wait on others to get your stuff submitted in a timely fashion, isn't it?!?

Good luck to you! I hope you get the position.
