Question on license

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I got my license as RN in Missosuri back in 1994. Have not worked at all after that. The last time I had it renewed was 1997. This time Im planning to enter nursing again, do I have to take any exams again or just renew my license. What if I will practice in the state of California?

Anybody who knows anything about this, pls respond. I really appreciate it. Thanks.

Check with the Missouri State Board of Nursing. There are limitations on practicing nursing without current experience. You may be required to do a refresher course to bring you up to speed. Check the California Board for their requirements for licensure.

good luck

:) Thanks for taking the time to respond. I will do what you suggested. I checked with the schools

in CA through the internet about refresher courses..i didnt find any listing..i was hoping to attend sometime on April...

Have a nice day!

Listen to Charles! I think the easiest way is to contact the Board of Nursing in whatever state you plan to go back to work.

Specializes in Community Health Nurse.

Also, after you contact the California Board of Nursing, if they can't tell you where you can get a refresher course, check with the local community colleges nursing department heads, or the continuing education department head. Best of everything to you! :)
