Hey, everyone. I'm a nurse who from China. I'm in states a couple of months for oversea training. i have a few questions, hope somebody could give me a comment.

How to carry out performance Relative PAY? In order to reduce compensation how to reduce risk probability and actual medical expenditure?

I'm not quite clear on the question. You're looking to REDUCE compensation?

You want to link salary to performance rather than .....? Seniority?

This is an unlikely scenario in the U.S. I cannot speak for the health systems of other countries.

Performance-based pay in the U.S. is generally in the form of incentives for employees. In nursing, this might mean some sort of bonus for the unit's performance in terms of various quality measures:

- reduction in rate of hospital-acquired infections

- reduction in patient falls

- compliance with certain initiatives such as patient teaching, etc.

I have to say, regardless of the culture or the form of healthcare ... cutting pay of workers in any field will not improve performance.
