Part Time RN's

Nurses General Nursing

I am interested in what other hosptial's are doing across the US. I would like to know if the hospitals are hiring nurses for part time employment or only full time.

Please include your city/state but not hospital.

Thanks!

Australia is also hard hit by the nusing shortage and yet hospitals are not as flexible as they sound over there. Many places here still believe that you should be sitting around on your days off waiting to be called in for an extra shift or two. Admin can't understand why nurses don't continually put their hands up for double shifts that are pitifully staffed with workloads to break you in two

I was hired as a POP...that stands for premiumn occasional pay nurse....as a POP. I have to work 4 (12 hour shifts) weekends a year and 2 holidays. in return I make $5 more an hour than a nurse with my experience. I work in the OR. works out well for me. I am the only POP nurse in the OR. but they are several throughout the house. I work in East TN. I can work as much or as little as I want. as long as I fullfill the weekend and holiday obligations.
