NYSED eligilibility expiration?

Hi! I received my eligilibility letter last year June 2015. Wondering if it has expiration? I emailed NYSED at they said it is valid until I sit for an exam but I've read in forums and articles that it would valid for a year only.

I also haven't changed my name into married name thru NYSED. Will pearson vue allow me to sit for an exam even if my passport changed into married name already?

When I did NY I had 5 years eligibility to sit the exam and pass. Your name on the ATT needs to match acceptable ID so if that is your passport then you need to get your name changed with BON
