True happiness can be had as a Nurse and most Nurses are happy with their jobs. Many of us worked long and hard in order to fulfill a dream or goal to become a Nurse. People look at us and might think, "I wish I had become a Nurse, she/he looks so satisfied". It's true; job satisfaction is something that Nurses, for the most part, share despite all of the problems in healthcare because we know we made the right choice.
Did you make the right choice? How is your job satisfaction?

My job satisfaction is fairly high with the exception of the push for micromanaging and all of the little silly things for the Pt experience we are being told to do.
Not asked, told. I can handle short staffing, high turnover, lack of supplies, etc. But tell me I have to initial some wipe away white board to prove I've been hourly rounding on my Pt's and other scripted crap and I start to get a eye twitch!

I have had people tell me that I come across as happier since I took the job I now have.
