I am a senior in nursing school seeking advice about nursing abroad. I have been offered the opportunity to work abroad but I was wondering as a new grad nurse is this a good opportunity to go for or would it be better to get my barrings in the U.S. first? Any thoughts are wonderful!!

Overseas nursing doesn't translate always to US experience. You will be better suited to get your bearings and experience in the US for a year or two first

Just curious, not to knock your opportunity, but who is seeking to hire a new grad US educated nurse to work overseas?

The major agencies won't consider nurses without 2+ years paid specialty nursing experience, plus fluency in the local language

I have family in Ethiopia, they would like me to move there for a little while and a family my aunt works with the heads of the hospitals there in terms of getting supplies for rural areas. She told me they are constantly looking for health care professionals.

Family makes sense. Based on my experience and knowledge work here a year or two first. Gain skills and confidence you will be better able to help overseas then

Do you have citizenship of that country? You would still need to get a license as well.
