California has mandatory ratios, finally signed by our governor in 2003? I cannot remember exactly the year. Many nurses here applauded the passing of it. Hospitals here still fight it, and nurses are still struggling with hospital compliance, sometimes striking over it. Unions help too. Good luck Ohio!!
