I'm a new grad just hired to a hospital medsurge/tele floor. I eventually want to move to ED in a year or two. What certifications should I be going after? What else can I do to prepare myself for the transition?

Specializes in L&D, infusion, urology.

Have you looked at bridging to your BSN?

Certs: ACLS, PALS, CEN, TNCC... Look at job postings to see what they require. That's always a good way to learn what employers seek.

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

Aren't CEN and TNCC premature certifications for someone without ER experience? They don't impress employers if the candidate just has medsurg/tele experience.

One could say the same thing about ACLS or any other cert.
