There were no survivors Emil's Windows of the World Restaurant at the top of the WTC. The name list of the lost employees looks like a Spanish telephone directory. We were hearing so much about all the help going to families of the employees of the brokerage firms but nothing for the mostly immigrant families of these waiters, waitresses, busboys, chefs, etc. If anyone wants to help them, its simple - Go out to dinner tomorrow night at one of the participating restaurants:

The world-wide Windows of Hope fundraiser is tomorrow, October 11th. Restaurants from all over the globe, including the neighborhood pizzeria and local Grill are donating anywhere from ten to one hundred percent of their proceeds from October 11th to the families of the employees of Windows on the World Restaurant who lost their lives in the attack of Sept.11.

A full list of participating restaurants can be found at http://www.windowsofhope.org

NYC has hundreds and hundreds of listings but this is a world-wide effort so look for a restaurant in your hometown and treat yourself to a dinner out on Oct 11. Making a donation and helping another family couldn't have been made easier or more pleasurable. >>

That's really cool. I checked it out and will head out to Larry's Deli & Gourmet Burgers here in Chattanooga tomorrow. Never been there but the cause will make it worth a try! :) I'll let you know how much they are donating.

I'm going to check the Tin Angel here in Nashville. Great way to see if my folks will like it when they come to visit.

Im going to be twirling spaghetti at Bienvenuti's tonight. An inexpensive pizzeria/trattoria in town. Even a little neighborhood place like that is participating. I think this was a great idea & so easy to do. Buon appetite.
