Lower Back Pain

I know certain things can't be told, but my friend has a situation, and I was wondering if I could get any ideas/opinions. He says it feels like he has something floating in his lower back. He says he gets sharp pain ocassionally. When he uses an inversion table he says it helps a lot. Any help would be great.

I have suffered from chronic low back pain due to an L4/L5 injury. The pain usually radiates down the back of my right leg. Ultram helps me get through my days. Nonsurgical spinal decompression, offered by many chiropracters, may help relieve the pain, too.

I am limited in the advice I can give because this site does not allow medical advice to be shared.

What might cause the pain?

I'm sorry, but these questions can only be answered by a qualified physician or nurse practitioner who has examined your "friend". This is a nursing website, and it is beyond the scope of our practice as nurses to speculate about possible diagnoses or offer medical advice.

Closing thread now.
