Which job would you take?

Nurses General Nursing

I'm having a tough time making a decision and would love some input from fellow nurses.

Given the choice, which of these 2 jobs would you take:

Job one- is basically In a nurses call centre. Making arrangements for pt. transfers, referrals etc. It is day shifts 7:30-3:30 four days a week. The management and staff seemed super nice and it's really hard to get into. However is only a temporary line with possibility of continuing after the year is up. But may have to go back to my current position.

Job 2- on a medical/pulmonary unit. 12 hour shifts with a mixture of both days and nights. Would be working 2 shifts one week and 3 the next.

I have 5 years experience in a variety of areas and am currently working on a transitional care unit at a hospital( Pts are relatively stable and waiting for LTC beds)

Then I would take 1 in a heartbeat. No way would I do rotating shifts willingly.

Since you have five years of exp. and not pressed about doing bedside, I'd take job number 1. If job number two was not rotating than I'll take that one. I work rotating shifts and it is NOT easy. I do it because the pros of working in my dream job outweighed the cons of rotating shifts.
