On-job-training jobs?

Im just curious, I see all these people saying that you could get a PCA/CNA job and get trained on the site?? Im in college now, and I was going to look into seeing if I could get a little part time job in LTC facility or something along those lines.. only one question.. how do you go about doing that??

Go in and just ask? Call? Send a resume? Have to know someone?

Im certified in BLS and am certified for using the AED, worth showing my license to the place im applying?? Also, since Im in school I wouldnt be able to work very long hours most days..

Guess Im just looking for guidance.. help anyone?

Call the hospitals, and nursing homes in your area, and find out from them. Ask the college, as many times they're aware of what is out there. I know of hospitals that have programs, and many nursing homes. Good luck!
