irony of times when families enter

So I work 1:1 with a home health care agency.

Why is it that the family NEVER seems to enter when everything is calm, resident is reclining and I'm rubbing said residents feet? Why is it that the family never seems to enter when said resident is smiling at me?

Why, instead, is it that the family always seems to enter when i'm in the middle of something, like in the middle of changing the resident? or when the resident is being uncooperative?

It's just ironic! The family seems to think that the resident is never really happy and that is totally not true!

I understand how you feel. i even had one mother glare at me like i was fussing. one family just thought i was lazy but then the pt weighed more than my back. You would have those situations. Just let the family be and know that you are doing your best. If the family complains, there's nothing you can do. it might be that they've seen you do the other stuff but dont acknowledge it but when he is in distress they want to see what is really happening and what you are really doing to handle the situation
