Carry a disinfectant gel if possible. It's not uncommon for our Asian students to wear surgical-type masks when sick with respiratory infections. You could consider that as a courtesy to your fellow travellers altho I understand that in this day and age, anything that draws attention to you in an airport is problematic

Protocols vary on treatment, as you say. Antibiotics are often given depending on how long you've been ill and your perceived risk of transmission.
