Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to improve on my BS and LS skills. I have been an lpn for awhile but really feel these two areas need improvement. Thanks

You need to review a clinical skills book. If you don't have one just go to the school library or lab and review the ones they have there. Your lab may also have videos of audios available, which are very helpful. You'll be suprised how just an hour or so of reviewing can remind you of all the skills you were taught in school. Mosby, Inc. publishes a good skills book.

By "BS and LS" do you mean assessment of bowel sounds and lung sounds?
Reviewing a physical assessment textbook like Jarvis or Bates is a start.
Check libraries at any nursing school for the videos on these skills. Even if you are not presently a student there, you may be still be able to view the videos in the library.
There is a pretty cool website:
The Auscultation Assistant- Hear Heart Murmurs, Heart Sounds,...
"http:/www.wilkes.med.ucla.edu/intro.html"
Then practice, practice, practice.!!
If you DIDN'T mean bowel sounds and lung sounds, ..oops.!!!
Good luck with your search.
Thank you for the replies. Good advice. And yes i meant bowel sounds and lung sounds.
