Are they talking about a closed drainage system like an Atrium for a chest tube or something more like an accordion drain? The question would actually confuse me, too.

One of those you would subtract the 190 from the 240, and the other the 240 would stand alone.

Most supposed to be per shift. These are two different shifts, I think. I'm not sure why the OP is having an issue. I wish they would come back and clarify.
