How to enter NICU or newborn

I'm interested in getting into NICU or newborn, but I don't have experience in the field nor do I have preceptorship in those areas. (I did a master's entry route that didn't have preceptorship program).

Other than getting NRP and other certifications, any advice how to get into either unit?

Have you applied to any mom-baby/postpartum positions?

Have you looked through the NICU/neonatal nurse forum under the 'specialties' heading? This question has been asked and answers dozens of times (maybe even hundreds); you can probably find most of the answers you're looking for by browsing through it.

As a master's entry, does that mean you have an NP? If so, that's a whole different story....

hi! I haven't applied to postpartum yet. and I haven't looked through the NICU specialty section. I'll check it out right now.

No, I don't have an NP, just a Masters
