Healthcare risk management interview

I have to do an interview for a class at a healthcare organization and address the following questions. I'd really appreciate it if someone that deals with risk management would help me out.

1. Identify the challenges your organization faces in controlling infectious disease?

2. What are some risk management strategies used in the organizations infection control program, and what are some examples?

3. What are policies your facility has implemented to address managing emergency triage in high risk areas of health care service delivery?

4. How does the facilities educational risk management program address key professional issues, such as preventing negligence, malpractice litigation and vicarious liability?

5. What strategies does your facility utilize to monitor and maintain its risk management program?

6. What works well and what could be better?

7. What facility do you work for?

The stock answer to questions along these lines is that the very fact that you don't currently know who to speak to is part of the rationale for the assignment. Edit: Therefore the process to directly engage a local resource is an integral part of the assignment.

As far as I know, I am the only risk manager currently on this board. I could speak for an hour on these topics, but you better served in finding someone local who has the time to help you.

It is unlikely that anyone who is involved in risk management will divulge anything but very general statements & observations. The very nature of their job requires confidentiality and discretion.

Anything would help, even if you gave me brief responses. I don't have to choose a local healthcare organization, as I'm doing this assignment as an online class.

A year and a half after this original post, I also have to do an interview along these lines. It is the fourth interview from this class this semester. I also had to track down a nurse manager, a nurse involved in fiscal planning, a nurse on an ethics committee and now this. So. Over. It.

Why one of the commenters above thought that a local risk manager would have more time talk to us than a person who is hanging around on a nursing forum is beyond me. I'm sad to read some of these replies. It reminds me of the stereotype that nurses eat their young. Although, I have to agree that a risk manager is unlikely to share info. I already had this issue at my own local institution, which is why I'm poking around on the internet for anyone willing to help.
