RT: Respiratory Therapist or Radiological Technologist; generally an acronym for the positions, not a credential.

Hi Guys,
Above is what I read about RT. It is not completely correct. In additional to being an R.N. paramedic (EMY-P), sonographer (RDMS, RDCS, ARDMS), CT tech, I was also an x-ray tech in a prior life. The R.T. for an x-ray tech stands for "Registered Technologist" and can only be used by a technologist that has passed a national registry exam given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T). It is a credential. On talking with friends that are respiratory therapists, R.T is also a credential for them meaning Registered Therapist.

RDCS: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer; a credential offered by the American Association of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

RDMS: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer; a credential offered by the American Association of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

One other nit picky point.......The RDCS and RDMS credentials are offered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) rather than the American Association of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers

How about the Q's? You need something for Q ...

QMRP = Qualified Mental Retardation Professional

QDDP = Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional

These folks are commonly known as case managers, and work for various state supported agencies in the US. They supervise staff, write Person Centered Plans (similar to care plans), and of course "other duties as assigned." They generally need a social sciences bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the MR/DD field in order to be hired for their positions.
Their nametags say whatever the agency says they are, but the state department of mental health calls them Q's.
