Does Duke U, hire adns? I have 2 bachelors in other areas and I'm working on my RN-MSN. My husband and I are looking at relocating and I was wonder about the possibility of working there.

Thanks,

From a job posting:

Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

· Previous work experience (1+ years) as a clinical nurse is required.

· Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.

All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date

So, while it appears they will consider hiring non-BSN nurses, those they hire will likely face competition from those that do already have a BSN.

I would imagine that there could be fierce competition with grads from (and very well thought of) UNC-Chapel Hill's BSN program, as well as Duke's own ABSN program. That said, if you possess some valuable experience already, you may well find a job pretty easily.
