Sooooo scared.I've always had a passion for nursing. Going to do it finally but need some helpful hints from you all. Please help. The courses are sooo intense. They've upgraded since years back.Haven't studied in a looooong time.Starting from sratch pre-req's. and all. How do I start?????

I also headed back to school at 40. For one thing I find that being an older student I am much more focused in school then some of the younger students. My study habits are better and I'm not out partying! As far as paying for school, I work part-time at a hospital and they pay 75% of my tuition and books (up to $2000/yr). Many employers to offer educational assistance, check it out. Here in MN we have a program for people who haven't been in school in 7 years. It is called the Allis grant. It paid for a 4 credit class tuition and books. There really are resources out there so good luck finding them.

Hi Biscuit. I graduated at age 41 after completing a four year full-time nursing degree programme. I worked hard and there were times when I found it hard to keep the committment going, but I made it with a good degree classification and the highly prized right to call myself RN. I would encourage anyone that wants to fulfill an ambition they've nurtured for years. I had always wanted to become a nurse. I hope you will do well. It will be hard work but if you are really dedicated you will do it. Good luck. I know you will enjoy your new career.
