Does anyone know anything about the effects of a chinaberry tree? I did a google search and all I came up with is all parts are poisonous, and cause a narcotic affect. We have a chinaberry tree in our back yard and I was wondering if any one could give some info on how much it takes to poison someone etc. I am concerned about my kids. Maybe someone out there works somewhere related to poison control. Thanks for any info!:)

all i know about them is that they are terrible when the berries get on your car, lol. sorry, I don't know if they are poisonous or not.

Hello, L&Dnurse2Be,:nurse:

It only takes a few berries, 5 or so, to be fatal for children. Severe electrolyte loss is paramount secondary to diarrhea and vomiting.

You can try to access your local Poison Control Center for any further information.

All I know is that we had Chinaberry trees in our yard when we were growing up and Mama said, "DO NOT put those Chinaberries in your mouth! They're poison!" So I never did.

Thanks for the info Siri. I think we will be cutting down that tree, just to be safe!

hi, l&dnurse2be,:balloons:

i kinda figured you might, and, i certainly do not blame you. children are just too inquisitive and so precious to take a chance.
