Calling to follow-up

Hello :)

I'm graduating in UNDER two weeks and will be taking my NCLEX soon after. I've been searching for jobs for a few months now, not finding much and definitely not getting a lot of calls back. Now that I'm just about done, I've found a few jobs that really really interest me and that I actually qualify for (some are new grad programs). My question is - when should I call them to follow up and express my interest? Soon after applying? The following day? I don't want to come off as pushy, but I really want the job!

I think following up is a great thing to do.

I wouldn't do it the next day... and I read somewhere you should never do it on a Friday...!

Maybe three or four days after?

I don't think it comes across as pushy, just confident in your own abilities and keen to work. The only way to might be perceived as pushy is if you act that way. And to me a simple follow-up doesn't fall into that category. Polite and enthusiastic yes... pushy no. :)

Best of luck! :)

In this digital age, I would think 2 work days would be good. And not on a Friday!

Best wishes!!

Thanks! I will call on Monday. Crossing my fingers that no one else sees the position and I can have it all to myself (haha delusional!)

One of the best threads I have ever seen on this forum was from someone who had just gotten a job as a new grad and posted to let others know how she did it.

Good luck! Keep us posted on your job search...
