Nursing shoes going to D.C.
Bay Area nurses are joining thousands of others nationwide who are collecting old nursing shoes. The shoes are meant to symbolize the lack of nurses in hospitals and will be sent to congressional members during National Nurses Week, May 6 - 12.
The drive is being organized by the SEIU Nurse Alliance that is part of the 1.4 million member Service Employees International Union. "Unless congress sets safe staffing standards, nurses won't be able to give the care that our patients deserve. Many will leave the profession and there will be nobody to fill their shoes," said Carol Bragg, RN and SEIU Nurse.

Got a good chuckle. If anyone knows the address on where to send these shoes, please post it!
