Anyone have any luck finding money to use to pay back student loans? I am in California and have applied for and was approved for an occupational scholarship. It pays $1000 a quarter, up to $8K. I have $85K in student loans and haven't had much luck finding anything else. Ideas?

Overtime. Pick up extra shifts every chance you get.

Live as simply as you can - no new cars or extravagant vacations.

Yep, what roser13 said. Paid back 70K in student loans in roughly 2 years.

Yes, pay what you owe by getting a job and working, then taking a chunk out of your paycheck to pay off the obligations you contracted for.

That said, it seems like I've seen mention of student loan forgiveness programs here on AN, but I don't think it's just free money. You'd have to work for that entity for a while if you want them to take on your debt.

Wow, that is really impressive!

OP, do a search here on AN using the terms "student loan forgiveness." You may get some helpful hits.
