Applying for VA as CNA

I was wondering if anybody knows if you can get a job as a CNA at the VA without experience? I'm technically a new grad with no experience. Unfortunately, due to my school schedule, I haven't been able to find a CNA job since December 2016 and passed my boards June 2017. I've been trying to find a job that works with my schedule.

I heard somewhere the VA likes to hire new grads so they can train them to do things their way. Since I guess the VA doesn't want to hire experienced where they have bad habits. I met one RN who got fired from the VA because she gave veterans too much medication. She told me "The veterans were in pain and the VA is going to sit here and allow them to be in pain like that?" At the time I didn't know anything about narcotics or meds that are addictive painkillers which would make sense as to why the VA would disperse them in low doses and work up to the point where their pain isn't felt and stop at that level of disbursement. I guess the VA teaches you to give medication in the lowest dose possible, but not all medication.

Anyway, if this nursing school entrance exam thing doesn't work out, I'd like to look into applying for a CNA job since that's the only skill I have. Especially since the VA is providing me housing with HUD. I'd like to work for the VA and have a normal life. I say that meaning I don't want to be on the housing assistance anymore because I don't feel like it's practical when I have student loans to pay and I'll eventually need to work a real job.

Being a veteran, especially one with a service connected disability rating, gives you preference points over other candidates. I was hired on as a nursing assistant at the VA with 0 experience.

So I’ve been a federal employee for 3 years now , while working my government job I have been in school to become a RN ! I have 4 more semester left but I kind of want to get my feet wet in the field . I don’t have my STNA license but I was wondering since they hire with zero experience , will they train you as well for the STNA like most hospitals do ?
