Anthropology study

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

I am currently studying to become a nurse and anthropology is one of my classes right now. I am supposed to study a small group or community of people, and I would like to study a group of nurses at the hospital that I am going to be volunteering at. I was hoping that I could ask questions of everyone on how you deal with stress, what you find rewarding and just many other things that you do everyday! I won't ask to much but would appriciate any help you could give me!

Thanks!

Tracy

Sunshine, the Allnurses community is very large and very diverse. Might I suggest you go with the community at your local hospital, which will be smaller and more homogenous, and therefore a better subject for your study? I'm sure there are nurses here who would be willing to take part, but I really think your teacher wants you to focus on one small group of nurses, not a large, international community. Also, I think face-to-face interaction will help you to learn valuable IPR skills which will be missing from an online interview.

Best of luck with your studies!

When you establish your population of nurses you might ask how they identify stress in their life. Search for tools on how to ID substance abuse, sleep disorder, weight gain, change/increase of medications---I bet you will find something!
