Nurses General Nursing

I don't know if this goes here or in the Agency Nursing board, but I was wondering. What is agency nursing?

Work in a nursing home, doctor's office, health department, department for the aging, immunization clinics, occupational health nurse, telephone triage, health educator, school nurse, prison nurse,....................the list goes on and on.

wow. I knew there were a lot of nursing specialites but I had no idea that there was such a variety in the places of employment.

That is the best thing about nursing. You have many, many options. I plan to eventually leave the clinical area completely, where I would not be providing patient care at all, but I will still be working as a nurse.
What would you be doing? Research?

I'm still looking at my options right now. There are many of them out there. Research is one of them, but it is not really my thing, so I'm not looking in that direction. Case management would be another non-clinical option, as would telephone triage, education, advanced practice, administration, etc.
