Ack! I'm being published!

Last year, I completed a research project as part of my MSN capstone. I've spent the last eight months trying to get it published, finding the right journal, editing, revising and all the rest.

Today, my inbox contained these lovely words: "I am pleased to inform you that your morificecript has been accepted for publication in the Journal for Nurses in Professional Development" AND "I have tentatively scheduled the morificecript for publication in the November/December 2013 issue".

Great news! Congrats! But why are you "acking?" You're not going into work for the 5th 12 in a row; you're being published, a good thing! :) Something to add to your list, so you'll get that job you want (if you want a certain position, that is).

There are actually TWO positions I'd like to have: Staff Educator for our PICU (someone has this job already) or Outreach Educator for our children's hospital (position does not exist).

So instead, I am continuing my research, looking for other presentation venues and taking care of sick kids to pay the bills. :)

The 'ACK!' is a direct result of the major case of Imposter Syndrome I've had since completing my MSN.
