8th grade nursing presentation ideas

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I'm am working with a small group of nurses who are going to be presenting nursing as a profession to two 8th grade classes and I'm not sure where to begin. We have a video from Johnson and Johnshon that we got from their website, but I'm not sure how to engage the kids. Also someone suggested them giving bookmarks or something at the end but I'm thinking 8th graders don't want bookmarks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You might be able to find those pens at a local dollar store, they had them at the dollar discount store down here for $1 each. Try your local public health department, they always send nurses to career day with pencils, paper clips, ink pens, different little things. Go to www.DiscoverNursing.com they have coloring books in their free materials section that come in English and Spanish, I know coloring seems kind of silly but my friends in college were coloring the other day and we had a ball.

Also, you could see if you could get a drug rep to give you free INK PENS

and sticky note pads, to give away.

Does the school has a school nurse? Maybe s/he might be interested in getting involve or at least giving some tips as what the kids like in that particular school.
