Just wondering if there were any replies to this question? I am a new member to this website and not sure how to view responses to questions or if that is even possible. Thanks.

I didn't get any replies, but I am interested in talking about it. I am doing some consulting in forensics but would like to connect with others to compare notes.

Kate,
Well, I guess by the lack of replies, this must be a field not many nurses are in, which could be good or bad. I think I am going to do Kaplan's online program, it's 1 year and you earn a certificate. I have learned that job opportunities can be with a hosp. ER, law enforcement, coroners office or private practice. But, I am very interested in this field of study and I want to pursue it. As far as salary/wages, I have heard anywhere from $55.00 to $300.00 an hour, I suppose it really depends on where you live and who your working for. Currently I work at a hospital, on the Cardiac unit. Recently, they announced they are phasing out the LPN's by 2006, and all RN's have to have their BSN. So I need to do something different and advance my degree. I am interested in hearing what you know. Thanks for your reply.

Susie...thanks for your reply. I am thinking about Kaplan... I have been doing legal reviews and have found it very lucrative.

I am in northeast Maryland...originally St Louis, MO. I think you are smart to pursue "non-traditional" nursing role. I love it.

My email is: kathit00@earthlink.net. I would love to hear from you and communicate in an easier format. Perhaps we can be study buddies @ Kaplan.
