UWF Fall BSN 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi!

I applied to UWF for their BSN nursing program and I have not seen any other forums about UWF! Has anyone else applied? What were your stats? I'm excited but nervous and I hope I get accepted! The wait is scary! Hopefully we can talk on this form about the application progress.

Thanks!

Pre-Req 3.7 GPA 3.6, Teas 83%. I too am waiting on their decision, I'm nervous. Anyone out there have stats of the last accepted class?

How are they gonna inform us? By mail or email? Does anybody know?

Pretty sure they let us know by email. When I asked about previous class averages she was very vague, 3.5 gpa, 90 on teas, at least one recommended course. However, I think that was the stats from the 2011 class, not last years. I can't see how a 90 was the average for teas V, maybe teas IV? I don't know, but that's why I kept retaking the test, so I could get the highest score possible. When she gave me the stats, it was like she was giving me round about numbers cause she didn't have the finite numbers.

The same she told me as well... But she also said that it depends on a "POOL" this year... You never know what kind of scores will be... What I understood is that high 80s and GPA above 3.5 - this is kind of guarantee to get in...

I'm so glad I found this thread!! The wait is absolutely killing me- I had an 86 on my TEAS, pre-req GPA 3.54...I was told to have at least a 3.4 GPA. I did all the recommended courses, but didn't complete my volunteer hours, only had 52 before the deadline. I'm hopeful but so nervous.

So you took that chemistry course? Did it require Chem 1? I've taken general chemistry. What did you think about the course?

That chemistry course is an older requirement that I was told not to worry about...also, UWF doesn't offer it so since I started out as a freshman i didn't have the option to take it. I believe that the only reason it is listed is that many other nursing programs require a mid-level chem course so UWF gives credit to those who have completed it with the intention to transfer. I only took the fundamentals course.

I was wondering, cause I had tried to find it in the past and always came up empty. That makes me feel better.

I had a dream that UWF released the names of the people who got in. I'm super nervous, I think they might be announcing their choices next week. How is everyone else doing? I really hope to get into this program, the school has offered me the most scholarships I would really hate to turn them down if I don't get in. I also got an interview @ UCF but got place in the wait pool. Did anyone apply anywhere else?

I am quite anxious. I only applied to UWF, I have three children and cannot relocate. Congratulations on the scholarships! That's wonderful.

Only another week or so now!!!! I swear, closer the deadline gets, the longer my days seem!! Do any of you know if they'll be announcing acceptance by email or phone?

I'm almost positive it says by email. Have you heard back from the other 9 schools you applied to?

Yes hopefully this week or next! I checked last years forums and they announced the applicants that got accepted around May 9. Besides here I also applied to UNF anyone else?
