University of Miami Accelerated BSN-2013

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi ALL,

I wanted to start this thread for all those who applied and are interested in applying for UM's accelerated BSN next spring (Jan 2013)!!

Has any one applied or been accepted yet?

Please reply

I noticed a lot of of members have taken their pre-reqs at MDC. Why did you choose to go to UM, considering the huge difference in cost of tuition? I considered UM as well, until I saw the costs!

In addition that there is a bachelor degree component (BSN being required by local hospitals), speed (time is also money), school has a national name (helpful should I move out of S. Florida, and if I want to pursue further studies), equipment will be updated. Also, was nice to know did not have spend time preparing for the TEAS.

I totally agree:geek:... I think UM has a lot to offer as well.

Hello all,

I just sent my invite request to the Facebook forum. Looks will be the 1st dude in the group. LOL! Has know how long it will take to get vaccinated? Saw some repeat vaccinations so I was wondering if it was possible before the Dec 21 deadline that I got.

Set in motion the background check, sent yesterday the $500 check, and signed up with a CPR class.

I had all of my vaccination but if would take a month to get them from the location I originally had them so my doctor did some blood work to show that I had the immunity in my system. Right now the only thing I had to get was the flu shot, Hep B series, and the meningitis shot. I think the stressful one to worry about is the fingerprints and background check, they say it can take up to 12 weeks to get the results to them...:arghh:

Is anyone moving to Miami from California? I'm wondering if UM meets section 2736 (Board of Registrered Nursing). My plan is to take the NCLEX in Cali once I complete the program.

Section 2736 of the Business and Professions Code states that applicants must have satisfactorily

completed instruction in an accredited school of professional nursing that meets California's

educational requirements.

Hi!

I think I found the group on FB! I just sent a request, my name is Sandy :)

Thank you!

Hey everyone,

Not sure about fingerprinting waiting for my paperwork in the mail. I got the results of my background check within a day of submitting my request though

Did you get an e-mail titled "University of Miami Electronic Fingerprint"? It has instructions. If you have not received the e-mail I assume that getting in contact with the background clearance company would be a start.

Did anyone apply to the helen fuld health trust scholarship? I just looked into it today, and today was the deadline. I sent an application anyways. Hopefully they see I submitted by the deadline and take it.
