I wanted to start this thread for all those who applied and are interested in applying for UM's accelerated BSN next spring (Jan 2013)!!

Has any one applied or been accepted yet?

Lsym2012,I would be comfortable living with you and your fiancé. I think it would be really affordable. My boyfriend goes to FIU med so we would also be looking for a place together but not until his lease ends in July. I wish I could contact you on some way so we could discuss! I'm going to join the Facebook group now and idk if we are allowed to post emails but mine is [email protected]. Look forward to hearing from you!

I just sent my request for the FB group too!

DST1913 - No it wasn't a guaranteed thing. I had originally chosen Summer/May entrance because at FIU they wouldn't let me register to take my Anatomy class because I wasn't meeting their pre-req's for nursing students. (Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me!) So I had already sent in my application when I was finally granted access to register for that class. So I didn't see the harm in changing, I figured if she was asking me to consider changing semesters it was because there was still space available and I met their requirements.

I also just sent in my $300 deposit today. Has anyone else gotten a head start on the immunizations, background/drug tests, and the Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers certification?

I updated my FAFSA, paid my 300.00 deposit, uploaded my picture for my UM ID, accessed my UM E-mail account, and started on my immunization records. I e-mailed someone for CPR classes at work but I did not get a response yet. Ok, so what is the BLS certification? I have not heard of that yet.

I got my official decision letter today in the mail as well!! :roflmao: And I joined the FB group!

I currently work full time at UM Hospital until classes start in January. =)

Oh that is wonderful... I work for Lee County EMS, I do the billing and coding for the ambulance transports.

Anelite2014, I still cannot find the Facebook group. I searched "University of Miami- Accelerated BSN 2013" in groups as well as several other word combinations. Is there another keyword I could use to find it? Also, is it classified as a group or page? I would love to connect with my new classmates :) Thanks so much for creating the group!

Hi DST, I just got off the phone with Assistant Dean for Student Services and she said our classes will already be set up for us. It should all be in the packet when we recieve it in the mail.
