0Jul 11, '13 by itsmeberlyHi everyone!
New to allnurses here. I realize you all moved to an FB group, but for any of you who are left, I'm curious what the program is like (hours at school, hours at study, etc - just any inkling of what I can expect) especially for someone with kids (3 & 10).
I'm still doing pre-reqs, but would like to either apply to the ABSN or the Concurrent BSN w/SSC. I have 2 kiddos. It's just my hubby & I, no family or friends nearby for help. If I am accepted into the ABSN (looking at 2015), one of my children will be in middle school & the other just starting out in K. Coordinating care for them is key, especially during summers. With clinicals, etc, will this even be doable for us?
Thanks for your help.

I just finished reading this thread - it was great source of information and entertaining too at times Congratulations on getting into the program last year- it must feel amazing to know that in few months you'll graduate. Anyway, today i'm in the same shoes as you guys last year - waiting to hear from them. Luckily we don't have an interview, so it's either yes or no. I was hoping however that I could find out more about the program itself. e.g. how you liked it? is it demanding? how are the classes distributed throughout the week? what days you have your clinicals? at which hospitals? what time they start ? etc... I would like to know as much as possible and would really appreciate any information. Many thanks!
0Mar 16, '14 by gyggles579I as well enjoyed the thread. I am looking at nursing schools in 3 different states. Ironically my hometown or Orlando is probably my 3rd choice. Only because growing up in FL has made me feel "over it." Still, I found the thread informative. However, like most threads I find that people are very active in the applying process then the thread dies! I can understand why because classes get hectic but it leaves poor readers like myself wondering what happened and how things ended up. I guess I will keep that in mind once I get into nursing school, try to post back with new info.
