Pensacola area new grad RN

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I recently passed my boards (October 2012) and moved to Pensacola from SW Florida. I have submitted, as most new grads have, TONS of applications. I have only received one phone call and had my first interview today. With Baptist, Sacred Heart, and West Florida, I thought there would be a little bit more opportunity. I'm volunteering at Sacred and networking everywhere I go. Any advice???

I live in Ft Walton Beach and applied to hospitals from Panama City to Pensacola starting back in June. I didn't receive any replies until November. Then, I had interviews all within a week of each other. After Christmas, I received two job offers a day apart. It was kind of funny to me that I went months without hearing anything and then I had to choose. I accepted the offer from Sacred Heart Destin and I start this week. It seems like a great organization and the one in Pensacola is bigger than the one in Destin. I hope you hear from someone soon, but from my experience it could take a few months.

Thanks for the reply! I have applied within about 45 miles of Pensacola... I finally had an interview with Baptist Hospital last week and just got a call for a 2nd interview! Congrats on getting in at Sacred - I've heard it's not easy! Let me know how you like it!

Hello MrsP, RN! How was your interview? You got the job? I hope you did.

Yes, I started in February of last year. I was promoted to charge nurse a few months ago :) I LOVE baptist!

Congrats! I realize this is an old thread, but keep me in mind when I start applying after I graduate in the Fall :nurse::up: ..but really
