Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN?

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi everyone! Just wanted to know if there is anyone who has applied to NSU's Entry Level BSN program RECENTLY and got in. I want to apply for Fall 2013's program. What was your GPA when you applied, how hard was it do you think to get in overall, just any personal experiences with your application journey.

I have a 3.691 currently and have taken Anatomy 1 & 2 with labs and got A's. Now I'm taking Microbiology and getting a B currently, will I be okay? Still have Chemistry and Human Growth and Dev. to take in the spring.

Thanks everyone in advance! :)

Hi everyone...I"m new to this forum and I had my interview on April 16 at Kendall campus. I am so nervous because I feel like I messed up on the written portion of the interview. My friend who went to interview with me received her acceptance letter and I did not receive one yet. Does anyone knows if the written portion a weighs outweighs the GPA. I'm really freaking out. I really let my nerves get the best of me.

Why do you think you messed up? And just wait. Just because they told your friend already doesn't mean you aren't in. Call them? Maybe a decision hasn't been made yet or maybe your in the waiting list? I think they have those because not everyone that gets accepted goes to nova.

NICE!!!!!! Which campus? :D

kendall campus :)

Thanks for the positive feedback. I took your advice and called Nova. Well, they inform me that a letter was mailed out regarding the decision. I was told during the tour that a email will be sent for acceptance and letter is sent for rejection. And for the writing portion, I started answered one question and scratched it off and answered another one. I think it was not long enough for a paragraph.

Does anyone know what is the schedule for our classes. Days and hours?

@rndreamer, I asked Kristina the same question and she told me that the schedule is done one month prior to start..so we have to be patient :/

Be positive! You are lucky you got an interview because not everyone that gets their application evaluated is granted an interview. Also, I have noticed that this year almost everyone that has interviewed has gotten accepted and the reason I think they are doing this is because as Laura said not everything that gets accepted ends up going there. Just keep your head up :) GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hi everyone!

I am new on here and I also just got accepted for Nova's fall 2013 nursing program in the kendall campus as well lovebuggy & nattify! Im so excited to start! Congrats and goodluck to those who could also be potential classmates!

Can anyone please give me information about the interview? What to expect? What type of questions will I be asked? What does in interview include? What kinds of answers are they looking for? I am very nervous and unable to find answers to these questions. I have my interview on Tuesday at 2:00 at the Fort Myers Campus. I have all Pre-reqs done except general chemistry lecture.

No need to worry! The interview itself is a very short process. Takes 15 minutes maximum. As you know it's a group interview and your group will be interviewed by a panel of 3 interviewers. First, each person is asked to tell their name and describe them self using one word. Then, each interviewer picks one random question from a sheet they have containing a list of random questions. All of these questions are open-ended and subjective. Not related to nursing or your skills and ability. :grumpy: Rather, they are designed to get to know your personality. :singing: *yawn*

In my interview, I was asked if I won a million dollars what's the first thing I would do. So yeah, you see the questions are nothing out of this world, lol. My friend was asked if she was stuck in an elevator what would she do. The people in my group were asked what flower they would choose to be, fictional character, and time era to live in.

So my word of advice is to be yourself, don't try to give the answer they want to hear or what you think is right because it ends up sounding unnatural. Initially, I had reheorificed a lot of possible answers to these type of questions and ended up being surprised when I got that question, so after freaking out and mentally blanking out for a second, I took a deep breath and said what I felt in my heart. Personally, I think that's what they all want to hear, a normal person they can relate to and not some robot with big vocabulary.

I hope this helped! Best of luck to you! You got this!

Well i got a letter in the Mail it says I’m on the holds list (at least I didn’t get rejected). Hopefully others will give up their seat if Nova isn't their first choice. According to the letter it says i will know by May 27th after all interviews are complete. I’m assuming either because all my transcripts aren’t sent in is the reason i didn’t get a solid approval. Spring grades are in and I took anatomy 2 and microbiology at the same time just to have a shot at starting in the fall at NOVA. Might i say that was pure suicide but it can be done if you’re determined. I got a B in both classes so hopefully they see my hard efforts and give me the opportunity to be classmates with some of you guys. Hoping for the best, whatever God has in store for me I’m ready. Everything happens for a reason......
