MDC 2009 Spring Hopefulls!!!

ugh- Where shall I begin... BLAH- didn't get accepted into MDC's Nursing Program first time around. Application is in for the spring. This application round Ive completed all pre-reqs and co-reqs

Have my A.A -- 71 credits hrs 3.45 gpa

Science gpa 3.57

Overall cum 3.26 :crying2: (retaking a 4 credit hr class; it will definitely put it in the 3.5 avg after this fall term)

A bit confused because i'm not exactly sure whether acceptance will be based on my A.A gpa or my cum gpa? Does having the A.A even help any? Some-1, anyONE please give me a glimpse of hope>??? :rolleyes:

Hey guys...wow I see this post is a bit old. MDC's program accepts Nursing students only on a basis of CUM GPA. This might suck to some students, but to others it might be perfect. They don't have an interview, and they do not have an entrance exam you have to pass in order to get in....I suck at math so I hate entrance exams, I always score pretty low on those.

By taking extra classes to boost your GPA, many students do fine. Once in it is a lot more hard work anyway, so try to hang out with the pre reqs and do your best, it gets horrible in nursing. I use to think people were exaggerating, but the program is not just about the studying, its the emotional part of dealing with people who are dying which can be just as difficult. I mean when you are going to be a nurse it is kind of part of the deal, but when it's your first time....it can be difficult. That is mainly why I am saying it is hard.

Good luck to everyone! Just keep in mind GPA GPA GPA. That is all you have to worry about.
