Looking For A Florida Nursing Job

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello,

I will be graduating in August with an ASN and anticipate moving after the NCLEX in late August early September. I would like to be in the Bradenton/Sarasota area or even Tampa, does anyone know what the job market is in those areas? Recommendations on what facilities are more likely to hire a new graduate? I have 20 years of EMS experience and 14 of that, I was a Paramedic in a high volume 911 system.

Thanks for any help you might have!

I'm applying in that area now. There are quite a bit of jobs available due to the number of hospitals. Your best bet would be to go here and find all the hospitals in Tampa and Bradenton, then go on their websites and see what jobs are available. Tampa General is the largest hospital and would be easiest to find work, but obviously there are much more places you can work, also.

Maui79 Thanks! Let me know how it goes. I have searched the internet and it does seem like a lot of open positions. I now live in Utah so I can't do anything but internet research now.

Specializes in Peds OR as RN, Peds ENT as NP.

Who told you that? Tampa Bay (as well as lots of areas) are not easy because we have SO many schools here. Yes, Tampa General is the biggest hospital in the area. Your best bet would be to interview/secure a job before you move. Best of luck!

The Tampa area has many R.N. programs going. It must be the #1 area for schools in the entire state.

Specializes in ICU.

LOL the only way your getting into TGH is if you get into their rotation program as a new grad. The rotation programs are ONLY open to BSN new grads. Tampa is tough to get a job. The Sarasota and Brandenton I would look into Blake medical center it is an HCA hospital.
