U.S.A. Florida

Hello everyone! I know there was a topic about this but I thought I'd refresh it for this year. So how many have you applied to the Lee Memorial intern program for Feb 2014? Does anyone have any advice?

I started last feb and I have been very happy with the support. In fact, my intern development specialist stopped by today to check up on me. So it's not like the support went away after orientation.

That sounds amazing! I'm from Miami and I've never heard of a hospital around here being like that. I actually got called today for an interview! I'm super excited and nervous. I'm glad to hear that they're that supportive. I hope everything goes well with my interview :)

Hello! I applied for the Feb '14 program on Thursday and was very surprised to get a call back that day for an interview! Good luck to you! Do you know which 3 units are your top choices?

Hey! Good luck to you too! I definitely am interested in doing Pedes so PICU, NICU, and ER are in my line of sight. I'm open to a lot of units but my first choice would definitely be those.

Thank you! And good choices! My mom is actually a nurse practitioner in the NICU at Health Park! But she did not pass the love for peds down to me lol I'm hoping for critical care!

Hey, so the interview went pretty well, I hope yours did as well! Were you as nervous as me? I started to freak out and stare around the room for a while there, and talk with my hands. I hope I didn't mess it up D:

Haha I was very nervous and thrown off by the questions! But I'm sure that they know we're nervous and it shouldn't count against us! I actually got a call today for an interview on the 21st! Good luck to you!!

I got a call for an interview as well for with the PICU director :) How about you?

Good luck!!!!!

Thank you pugmom79! I really hope I get it! Time to prepare and tackle some interview questions :) Any advice on the 2nd interview? Like the first one was tell me about a time, is it the same for the 2nd interview as well?

I found it similar. The third interview with the director is the most intense. The second is usually with the intern person and it was more if the same, with a little more depth. Look up common nursing questions inline, think about hoe you want to answer them so you don't seem stumped , and you should be gone. And show enthusiasm :)
