Keiser Orlando

U.S.A. Florida

I am currently a paramedic student and I am not enjoying it one bit, I plan on attending nursing school as soon as I am done (i only have one semester left). I already have most of my prereqs done and I plan on doing the rest at SSC, but my question is what does everyone think about keiser U for nursing? and where do you do clinicals? and about how much is it with all your prereqs done? Thanks!

Why don't you like paramedic studies?

Too much gruesome trauma? That I can understand. But...

...I'm concerned about you pursuing a nursing career if you are turned off by the meat and potatoes of medical science. If studying how the body works, and how it works during illness/injury is something you "don't enjoy one bit," then how will you like nursing when a patient in your stead starts puking up emesis from a GI bleed? Or codes? Or is mentally unstable? Or any other number of maladies that you, the nurse, will be responsible for?

I actually do enjoy the gross stuff. I have been working in a level I trauma center for about 2 years now and I love it. I should have been more specific as to why I didn't like it. It is how unorganized my current paramedic school is. It is awful, we lost many students from last semester just because of how rude and down right mean our professors can be. The course work is doable as long as you study, and the ONLY part i do enjoy are the clinicals. We have amazing clinical professors which is why i stuck it out for the rest of the program, I have gotten so much experience from working in the ED, Fire Departments, and OR's. But my end goal has always been nursing. Sooo that brings me back to Keiser here in Orlando lol

Ah. I see.

Thank you for the clarification. :)
