FSCJ Summer 2013 Nursing Students

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone, well I'm starting this convo so we all can get an idea of who, what, when, and where with FSCJ. Good topics would include testing materials, the average ranking of points for the upcoming term, and any other useful ideas that will help us all get into to this crazy hard nursing program! :) So, lets see if we can help each other out....and it's kinda fun to talk about nursing as well :)

I know! I'm tired of running to the mailbox everyday and seeing nothing. I had my husband check today and he said I would have had a heart attack probably because there was a big white envelope in there but it wasn't from school lol. Fingers crossed we see something soon!! I'm getting very anxious :)

I wonder if it'll be a big envelope?! Lol. The LPN letter was in a small envelope...at first I was like " it's too little, I didn't get in" :( but to my surprise I did! Lol. I went today to pick up my BIG envelope. I've decided that if I do get in the RN too, il just call the school and cancel my LPN, I guess It's so stressful! :)

I think it comes in a big envelope. The rejection letter was in a small white envelope. It said where you were ranked out of how many people applied and what the point cut off was. Gives you an idea if you don't get in what kind I points you need to get say on the nat or retaking classes to get in the following semester. I have a friend in the program now and she said that they say 8 weeks after the deadline because some people they will put on a waiting list if those that are accepted do not take their seat

I almost had a heart attack when I checked my mail after reading your post because there was a FSCJ envelope there.....but it was just about my financial aid. Boo!!

Lol! Not cool.

Sorry Lucy! Didn't mean to scare you. I'm not 100% positive that the acceptance letters come in a packet but that's what I have read in previous semester forums. What I do know is that my rejection letter last semester came in a single letter envelope lol. But hopefully none of us have to worry about that :)

Hello Everyone! I just signed up on allnurses so I am new to the convo. I also applied and am anxiously awaiting for the big white envelope! I hope, anyway. I know someone who got in in the spring and it IS a big packet size envelope. The rejection letter is a regular sized envelope. I know because I got one for the spring. This time I applied with 196 points so I hope that is enough. I also applied at JU and just did my interview there. My number one choice is to go to FSCJ though, work as a RN for a year and then go to the FSCJ bridge program for my BSN. It takes longer at FSCJ to get your BSN due to the working for a year requirement, BUT it is definitely the cheaper, much cheaper route. As a mother of two, cheap is good! I hope to be talking with everyone soon and good luck to all! Oh and BTW it only took three and a half weeks for my friend to get her acceptance letter. So, hopefully we will know anyday now!

May I ask how many points did you have when you first applied. I have all A's and B's in the prerequisites but totally bombed the NAT. I am currently taking micro and applied to summer with only 160 points because I did so poorly on the NAT.

Welcome!! Best of luck with your acceptance :) Are you applying for N/W or days? Either way I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. We have a great group of girls on this board and I hope we all get in!!

No need for apologies! But I'll definitely be on the lookout for a big while envelope! BIG WHITE ENVELOPES FOR EVERYONE!!!!!!

Jrice and Cheri what were your scores when you applied and didn't get accepted?

Jrice and Cheri what were your scores when you applied and didn't get accepted?

Hi Nicole I'm not completely positive what my score was because I threw out the letter but I believe it was 149. I completed micro, human growth and development, sociology, and retook statistics. I was able to get all A's. I also took the nat again and with my last two test scores was able to add an extra 10 points so if I calculated my score right I think I applied with a 204. I'm just nervous because I know they accept 50 less students for the summer start and the point cut off changes every semester so there is never a guarantee that you make the cut off. I am just ready for the wait to be over with!! Hope we see something tomorrow :)
