I figured I would go ahead and start a new thread. Maybe we can help each other get through these next couple months of scrambling around.

For now....let's just celebrate!!!!:yeah::up:

Specializes in Answering phones and studying. ;-).
Just got off the phone with Northside medical clinic and they gave me the following prices.

titers: MMR 30.00, Hep B 25.00, Varicella 30.00

vaccines: TDAP 50.00 flu shot 25.00

TB test: 12.00

physical 40.00

and they do the drug test there as well.

They are open Mon-Fri 8 to 4 but if you want the physical there is no doctor on Tuesday and you need to get there before 3 the rest of the week to see the doctor.

Wow! Those prices are so low I had to call back and check. Ha! I fell so much better! Thank you so much.

You can get everything you need anywhere, but the drug test has to be done through the company they've chosen. Must get forms from the school and go to that particular location.

Everyone's best bet is to stay with their local health dept, they're usually cheaper. And check with some of the hospitals that are on the list.....they do flu shots too. I got mine at UF Shands when they were doing all their employees.

This is great!! Forget Solantic!! Are they walk in as well???

Re lottery: Is mayo clinic in the pool????

MORE INFO ON DUVAL COUNTY HEALTH DEPT --

This is standard for locations across the board.

New Patients -- must apply for a Clinic Card in order to receive the vaccines and physical at a discounted rate.

Appt Only! Only 2 locations are accepting new patients, Edgewood and Timiquanna. They MAY be able to get you scheduled before the END OF THIS MONTH.

..... I'm calling to see how long it takes to get the clinic card. You can still go without but it will cost $200+.

I think Northside Medical Clinic is our best bet.

I live by the beaches so if there is something closer to me, that would be grand!! I would also loooovvvve to car pool if anyone lives by me???!

What is northside medical clinic? Is this diff than health dept? I called health department, Duval Cty., Immunizations department. She is the one that told me $107 for Varicella. And there is no sliding scale based on income =(

Congrats on getting in everyone! I just have a couple of questions. Does Health Insurance pay for any of these shots? And I'm a little confused on how the "lottery" works. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks!

Yup!! Totally Diff!! Go w/ Northside Medical Clinic..... this is the same place that we need to do our drug test! They are the cheapest!!! The address is in Part C of of package.

I'll be there on the 13th. Make sure you get your Drug Screening form first.... prior to going to NS Med Clinic.

Most insurance will NOT pay. Go w/ Northside Medical Clinic -- info is in Part C. They will do it all. See prices above.

I'm not too sure about the lottery. We will know the details during orientation, though. But, this has to do with where we wind up doing clinicals. I hope Mayo Clinic is in there!! So close to me!!

Thank you! Yeah, I saw that most insurances don't cover any of it. Kind of a bummer. But I will definitely check with Northside Medical. Can we call anytime before the 14th to accept our seats or do we have to wait until the day of?

I'm so anxious, I don't want to wait any longer! Haha.
