FIU Fall 2011?

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi everyone, I am finishing my AA right now, I have about 2 more semesters to go and then I will apply to the Basic BSN program at FIU. I have questions for those already in the program or those who have graduated from it. I'd enjoy hearing any experiences, likes, dislikes, etc.

So my questions are:

  • What made FIU stand out to you?
  • What was your GPA when you got accepted? Were you a transfer to FIU or were you a freshman there?
  • How much do they look at your essay?
  • How was the Hesi A2 in terms of difficulty and how long did you study to get your score?
  • Did work in the program? What scholarships were helpful to you? I also want to know what you think about the extra costs. For example, I know you need to have a PDA/ipod touch, etc. How much did you spend on books alone first semester?
  • If you can, provide advice about teachers.... however, thanks to ratemyprofessor, it may be unnecessary. :) Hehe.
  • What are those two prenursing classes like? The COM and NUR ones?

Again, any info would be great, thanks so much for commenting. :)

oh man that sucks well have all your questions ready for tomorrow and its driving me crazy, now I have to change my schedule all over again because of anatomy, etc. Well lets just overcome these obstacles! that's what it is all about :) Oh he said not to worry about the nursing class because a lot of people always drop it (about 40, he expects) so there will be room. (my friend is on that waiting list, and she couldnt get a permission code to enroll in it so she has to wait until other students drop it). Just keep checking or I dont know if you enrolled already, but, dont worry that one shouldnt be a problem. I asked sooo many things now I dont remember...well no I think thats all thats relevant to you. Now I have to plan and enroll in other classes again :( good luck! and let me know what you hear tomorrow :]

Hey! I just got back from talking to three different people at the school of Nursing. I was told I could still take the classes over the summer as long as I have my APPLICATION in before May 15 and am ACCEPTED into FIU as a transfer student. I leapt for joy! Basically I better have graduated with my AA from MDC before the May 15 deadline as well as have turned in all my paper work. And over the summer I can take those two courses as a FIU student. Does that make sense? I am so relieved :o

Oh and I forgot to mention how that whole thing of the deadline IS true but won't really be applied for right now, for those who are applying for Fall 2011. I guess they recognized how unfair it would be, and almost impossible. So it would probably apply for the next class. :o
