Edison State College Nursing Program 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello all, I am applying for the ESC Nursing program for the summer this year, but I am nervous as to the points I have. I have calculated everything and I have roughly 85-87 points (most likely 87) but worst case scenario 85. I was wondering if that is enough for the collier campus? does anybody know if I have a chance? a good chance? I can still take the hesi one more time this year, I was planning on taking it again and doing better if I don't get accepted, and by the time applications for the fall semester roll around I will hopefully be done with Micro and have an A in it. Let me know if you have any idea! thanks.

I'm really excited! CONGRATULATIONS! Who else got into the Edison programs?

I just got the "yes" from certified profile but I'm not sure when the acceptance letters are going out. I got an email today also saying not to worry about registering for the classes, that was going to be done for us. Does anyone know if we are taking intro to nursing and intro to pharm. or only intro to nursing.I think we're going to have a great class!

I just spoke to Ms. DeBona today to figure out if they got my results from certified people or not. They did, and she told me that the "letters" were actually going to be emailed to us, with all instructions in there. They should go out in a few days. We had until the 23rd to get the results in, so I assume an email will be sent out on Monday to everybody who accepted and got the drug test and fingerprints done. I saw that both intro to pharm and intro nursing were available to sign up for. One is a 1 credit and the other is a 2 credit, so if you want financial aid I would guess you would have to take a few more classes. I'm going to take chemistry and Spanish 1 online. What campus are you at Sam2012?

I've been checking mine every single day. I hope they didn't decide to reject me last minute! :uhoh21: I'm so nervous

Im new to this and dont know where to start. All Nurses that is. Im applying for Edison's nursing program for summer 2013. I have to take a&P1 and 2, mirco, and statistics before I have all 9 prerecs done. And I have to get A's in all of them to get a 93! If I dont succeed and say I only ace 2 of the 4 classes and receive B's in the other two.. do you think an 85 point score will get me in? I am taking into consideration me recieving 40 points on the Hesi exam. Ive been studying for two months straight. and I can almost do all the problems in my head without a sweat!

I need advice! Its so competitive. I have also heard that the summer program is not as competitive as the Fall or night programs.

This is my dream!

What campus are you planning on attending? The campus makes a big difference!
Specializes in cardiac-telemetry, hospice, ICU.

85 is competitive, 90 is better. I got in with 91 first try

Hoping for Lee but Charlotte would be option #2. I just want to get in. And Summer would be my choice as well. A friend of mine just got into summer with a 79. She had a 3.9 gpa, all prerecs finished but didnt score so hot on the Hesi. She said it was hard without paper and a pen. her GPA saved her! I guess for me this Hesi test has to save me! lol

Another question about the Hesi. You can only take it twice (30 days apart) once a year?

If I take it August 2012, then October 2012, can I take it again (If needed) In January 2013? Or do I have to wait for my "year" to be over August 2013?

I've been reading all of the comments before I actually joined Allnurses. Congrats!

To get a 90 or above. I have to ace apI and II, Mirco and Statistics. Which is going to be hard to conquer because I have a 14 month old that requires so much attention. I drink coffee at 10 at night just to stay up til 2:00am to study!

I got into Charlotte with a 74, which...is really embarrassing. I had a really low GPA because of my C in statistics and my C in A&P2. I didn't have nutrition finished, but I scored well on the HESI. I took it twice and got the same score twice! The first time I didn't study, the second I studied my problem areas and did worse on the areas I did well on on the first exam! If I would have scored one point higher I would have had a 79 when applying, but I still got in!

I don't know how many times you can take the HESI each year. That's something you should ask at your orientation session.
