I graduated in May 2014 and passed NCLEX in July, been job hunting ever since and still nothing!!! Everywhere I apply either say they're not hiring or calls me back asking me for 1 to 2 years of RN experience. I have been a CNA for 4 years but that doesn't seem to count toward my experience. I live in Naples FL and have applied to every hospital and to every single nursing home and assisted living facility there is, I even tried applying to other cities in Florida but no luck so far Is anyone here located in FL and having the same issue, or does anyone know of a place hiring new grads?

No I run out of time and didn't get too that. But by doing practice questions i got familiar with some meds.

Hey ya'll Just wanted to come by on here and share how I studied and my road to passing NCLEX. I took the exam on Tuesday and got the good pop up! Found out the official result last night!! My license was up online this morning. I had about 10-15 SATAs, about 4 drag and drop, 2 images , a good amount of pharmacology with 1 med I had never seen in my life, a few prioritization questions, patient teaching and room assignment, no EKG. Throughout the exam I was freaking out because I thought a lot of the questions were lower level and by the time I got to 75 I started hoping the computer would give me more questions but it shut off!! I was sure I had failed! I felt so defeated. Did the PVT after about 30min and got the good pop up, I was relieved but still skeptical. About 24hrs later my result was on the BON website and this morning my license was up.God is goooooood :) :) What I used to study; HURST review: AWESOME REVIEW!!!I did the online review and highly recommend it. They focus more on content and break it down in a way that makes you understand the "why" about everything. They also have awesome test strategies!!! Saunders 5th edition: I actually started out with this book and the CD questions, but I quickly got overwhelmed! It's an awesome book for content and I used it as reference NCLEX Mastery mobile app: AWESOME app!! I would do questions on it everyday and while I was at work (no internet needed to use it). It has great questions and rationales. ATI review book: My school used ATI, we had to attend a 3 day live review and all received a book. It's smaller than Saunders so it was less overwhelming. I mainly used it to study OB and Peds and look up quick stuff. NCSBN 3 weeks review: I only did the Qbanks and found some of the questions to be challenging, it was too hard to review content with (I would fall asleep in front of my computer doing all that reading) that's when I decided to go with Hurst....best choice ever!!! PDA by LaCharity: I only got through 5 chapters, the question are hard but it's a great book to practice p&d questions!!! NCLEX 3500: it's free!! and has some good questions and rationales!!! 35 page study guide: only got through the first few pages but it was very helpful for infection control questions!!! The exam: Like I said I thought most of my questions were lower level because they were very straightforward. Some of them I had to guess but for the most part I would say it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Prayer was a major help!!! I had a LOT of friends and family praying for me and I also prayed a LOT. I was on this website everyday and got freaked out by reading the horror stories about NCLEX but also read some great testimonies. To those preparing for the exam I would say, believe in yourself and Trust in God (if you're a believer). It is possible to pass 1st try. Focus on your weak points, stick to your schedule, pray and go kick NCLEX butt!!!

I'm still skeptical about the PVT I won't celebrate until I know I passed for sure!!

Yes it was helpful as far as test-taking strategies. The lectures were helpful in understanding core concepts and the "why" to everything. If you understand the why to some diseases or symptoms then it's easier to come up with the right answers.

Hey AN family!!! Took the dreaded NCLEX today!!! The computer shut off after 75q and less than 2hrs after I started. Did the PVT 30 min after and got the good pop up. Now waiting for official results!!! Torture!!!!!!!

Did u also study all of 5th day materials? I also did NCSBN a few weeks back but only did the Qbanks. I plan on relaxing in a few more hours
