Can you please tell me what you think about Baptist Health Jacksonville South? Do you enjoy the organization? Would you recommend this employer to other nurses? Please tell me what you think...

I am also curious about Jacksonville South. What is the pay range for a nurse with experience. I have been a LPN for 5 years and a RN for 1 year with Medical surgical experience. I currently make 25.40 at a hospital In Tampa Bay. My wife and I are planning on moving in the spring to J- Ville. I wonder If salaries are similar up in northern Florida. I am also interested In St Vincent's.

Not sure about the hospitals, but I was offered a job for LTC and as a new grad I got 25.25

I know that the hospital pay is not as competitive compare to a LTC, but the Diff/ should make up some. The market is terrible out here but with your 1 year experience you shouldn't have any problems.

jnmoore02, if you don't mind me asking, where do you work that pays $25.25 for a new grad? I can't believe there is such a facility!

I started at a LTC while I was hunting for a hospital job. Usually LTC starts of much more then hospitals. My friends that are new grads got 27.50 start off. She makes 30/hr with diff. This is in the St. Augustine area.

jnmoore02, I can't send PMs until I have 15 posts, so I'll get back to you after I've reached this quota. I have a few questions I'd like to ask you, if you don't mind.

Specializes in COS-C, Risk Management.

I haven't worked there, but my MIL was a patient there in August. The nurses and aides we dealt with were relaxed, had plenty of time to spend with MIL, were attentive to her needs (she has dementia), and all of them claimed to enjoy their work. By contrast, MIL was in Baptist downtown last month and it was the total opposite. No one had time for anything, she was restrained chemically and physically, and the staff was rude, condescending, and no one seemed to enjoy what they were doing.
